Grand Central Market Celebrates Summer With Late Nights, Happy Hours And Movies
You’ll soon have plenty of new downtown dinner options as Grand Central Market is extending its hours this summer and adding fun specials, movie screenings, live music and more.
Starting on June 3, the rapidly evolving historic marketplace will stay open every day until 10 p.m., according to the L.A. Times. Many of the vendors will be featuring dinner-only specials and there will be a market-wide happy hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Some of the stalls participating in the extended hours and specials include Knead & Co Pasta Bar + Market, Sticky Rice, Golden Road, Ramen Hood, Belcampo Meat Co., Oyster Gourmet, Courage & Craft, Berlin Currywurst, La Tostaderia, Valerie, DTLA Cheese and Kitchen, Horse Thief BBQ, McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream, Olio Pizzeria, as well as old school favorites like Las Morelianas, China Cafe, Chiles Secos, Roast To Go, La Huerta, and more. Some of the vendors will not be extending hours though, so you’ll still have to get up early to try and beat the eternal line at Egg Slut.
To keep you entertained while you feast, the market will also host DJs on Friday nights, live music on Saturdays and Sundays, and a flea market every second Thursday of the month to correspond with the Downtown Art Walk. Movies will also be shown on the patio of Horse Thief on Wednesday nights, game nights will continue on the first Thursday of every month, and there will be a free shuttle to take you from the dinner at the market to nearby venues like the Music Center, Staples Center and the Orpheum Theatre.
The new hours will run until September 22. Grand Central Market added later hours Thursday through Saturday back in October, 2014.
Grand Central Market is located at 317 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, (213) 624-2378. Current hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.
